My amethyst is completely smooth with no blemishes. It has lovely gray veins running through it. It’s perfect. After seeing it, I ordered another one as a gift.

If you look at the stone in white light, it looks blue, kind of like the sky. If you look at a lamp through the stone, the lamp looks yellow, like the sun. If you rotate the stone, the light source looks more red, like the sunset. It’s a cool physics toy, plus it’s hefty, feels good to handle, and looks nice.
